HAIR REMOVAL TREATMENTS

Hair Removal Treatment List

Our hair removal treatments ensure you have fast and effective hair removal to ensure excellent smooth results. We offer threading for the face and a hot wax for small, sensitive and delicate areas and a strip wax for larger areas of the skin. We use Kim Lawless ‘The Wax Queen’ products which are suitable for the most sensitive skin.

If it is your first time after shaving and you have a lot of growth, you may require a longer appointment. Contact us so we can discuss this and adjust your appointment.

Waxing Summary

  • Hair needs to be a certain length to be pulled out effectively.
  • Larger areas can be waxed in one go appearing to be quicker and less painful.
  • Redness usually lasts longer due to the heat of the wax and pulling of the skin.
  • Blood spots can appear when waxing very coarse hairs.
  • Inflammation can occur in the form of red bumps and/or whiteheads.
  • In some rare cases the wax can take off a layer of the skin leaving a graze that eventually forms into scab, sometimes mistaken for a burn (but in recent years wax pots are quite advanced and have thermostats that ensure correct working temperatures) this can also happen to thin skin caused by certain medication, steroids, exfoliating products and facials such peels, dermabrasion, AHA’s, glycolic etc.

Threading Summary

  • Threading can cause you to shed a few tears and even make you sneeze!
  • More precise – you can pick one hair to remove, or can you thread out a whole row at a time.
  • Better for sensitive skins as no heat or chemicals applied to the skin, only 100% cotton thread.
  • Skin must be held taut by the client to prevent any nips or cuts on looser skin and more delicate areas, therefore makeup and contact lenses should be avoided on the day of treatment.
  • Inflammation can occur in the form of red bumps and/or whiteheads – your skins natural defence mechanism of producing histamines in response to “trauma”.
  • Blood spots can appear when threading very coarse hairs.

✅ Rebook every 2-4 weeks for facial hair and every 4-6 weeks for body hair (depending on the speed of your hair growth).

✅ If irritation occurs apply an after threading/waxing lotion (i.e. aloe vera, tea tree, witch hazel or a cooling cream) to soothe the area.

✅ Do exfoliate after 3-4 days to prevent ingrown hairs and once a week thereafter.

Do not pluck, shave or use hair removal creams in between appointments.

Do not scratch or touch the treated area with unwashed hands.

Do not use perfumed products on treated area for 24 hrs after treatment.

Do not have any massages or extreme heat treatments (e.g. very hot baths or showers, saunas, steam rooms), no swimming, sunbathing (including sun beds or any other exposure to UV light) or exercise for 24-48 hours.

Do not apply makeup for 24 hrs on the area that has been threaded or waxed (Mineral makeup is ok).

Do not have a spray tan on the treated area for 24 hrs after the treatment as the pores will still be open and cause spotting. If wanting both treatments they should be a few days apart so infection cannot occur.

In the unlikely event that your skin has not returned to normal after 24 hours, seek advice from your GP
